Share Your Fears With Mine

The sun began to creep across the sky more quickly than normal and we noticed every stop sign moving to face the star as if it were a sunflower feeding off of light and chemical energy. You said, “Did you know that a shrub is a plant that isn’t quite tall enough to be considered a tree?” I turned my face into a frown and said, “You are a tree and I am a shrub. What is the stop sign?” You said, “It’s a stop sign,” and we kept walking.
